How to Grow Kothu Chilli from Seeds
Kothu chilli is a flavorful and hot type of chili which is used in food products such as Kothu Roti. It can be easily grown from seeds, if you are doing things right. You can grow it in your garden at home or in pots.

Use the Right Seeds
Purchase fresh kothu chilli seeds from a trusted shop or dry yellow and black mature chilli pod seeds. Use good quality seeds for proper germination.
Preparation of Soil Chilli Kothu
Chillies like well-drained soil having a nice temperament. Proceed step by step as mentioned below:
- Utilize garden soil, compost, and sand as a mixture.
- The soil must be loose but not damp.
- Mix soil to fill small pots or seed trays to plant the seeds.
Sowing Seeds
- Plant the seeds in the soil around ½ inch deep.
- Cover with a thin layer of soil.
- Water lightly so the soil is not soggy but damp.
Give the Right Conditions
- Chilli Kothu Place the pots in a sunny, warm place. Chilli seeds require temperatures of about 25-30°C to germinate.
- Water occasionally, but avoid overwatering.
- Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days.

Seedling Transplanting

Harvesting the Chillies
Chilli Kothu 2-3 months later, you can see small green chillies.
Allow them to become red-colored if you prefer spicy.
