Firstly Petunias thrive in a temperature range of 20–30°C. Seeds are best sown between October and February in India. Plant seed in cold climates indoors about two weeks before the last frost.

Petunia seeds are fragile, and so handle them very gently. They should not be sown directly in the soil since they need light to sprout. While sowing in a seed tray, apply light garden mix soil that consists of cocopeat, perlite, and compost. Sow seeds very lightly on the surface of the soil.

Water the soil with water to maintain moisture but not waterlogged. Cover with clear wrap or plastic lid to retain moisture. Place it in a warm, light location with indirect light or grow light. Petunia seedlings need heat (about 22–25°C) to germinate. Germination will take place in 7–14 days on average.

Petunia Celebrity Mix When seedlings emerge, remove the plastic cover. Maintain soil that is kept slightly moist and in a light location. Under indoor growing, provide them with a minimum of 12–14 hours of light daily. When two or three actual leaves are present, seedlings need to be transplanted into individual pots or containers.

Place them in their permanent position after 6–8 weeks, when they are 4–6 inches tall. Choose a location with full sun and drainage. Plant 8–12 inches apart to grow normally.

Water them regularly but not too much, as petunias despise moist soil. Allow the surface inch of the earth to dry out before refilling. Feed the flowers with a balanced liquid plant food every other week in an effort to promote blooming flowers.

Petunias are not that difficult to grow, but sometimes aphids or whiteflies do infest them. Spray neem oil or soap solution to kill the insects. Water leaves just a small amount so as not to get any fungi.
