- Summer leeks – Mature sooner and do well in temperate climates.
- Winter leeks – Take a long time to mature but can tolerate cold.
- You are all ready with seeds and can go ahead with planting!
- Sow seed trays or shallow containers of loose, well-draining potting mix.
- Sow seeds on the surface and top with a very thin layer of potting soil (about ¼ inch deep).
- Water the soil lightly to make it damp but not wet.
- Place the tray in a warm spot (60–70°F or 15–21°C) with good light.
