Ferocactus Electracanthus cactus
Ferocactus Electracanthus cactus is a slow growing cactus that is capable of growing into large barrel shapes, but in 15 to 30 years. Â Yellow flowers appear from the centre of older plants in spring. Â It can be left in a small pot for many years.
It can be placed outdoors under covers in partially shaded positions, or indoors only in a sunny position, otherwise it may lose its nice shape. Â Growth is controlled by pot size, watering and feeding.
It is drought hardy and will tolerate light frosts. Â MUST be kept out of rain!

Recommended Care
Buy potting soil designed for Succulents and Cacti, if you’re uncertain about soil type. Â Alternatively, you can use 50% normal potting soil with 50% pumice.
It is a good idea to place small pebbles as top soil to steady the stem of the cactus as it grows.
Usually water once a week is sufficient. Â Soak the soil completely, then let it dry completely before re-watering. Â Cacti do NOT like soggy soil stuck around their roots, so a bit more neglect is usually better than too much coddling!
