Temperature Requirements
This plant does well under warm climate conditions with temperature ranges between 15°C to 30°C. Balsam’s primary season is summer but they are also grown in winter in most part of India. In India, it thrives well in moderately climatic zones with temperatures between the ideal. The monsoons, falling between June to September, have ideal conditions since there is usually heavy rainfall in this period though proper drainage would be necessary so as not to waterlog.
Balsam Seeds tolerates the most extreme temperatures but is still good to save under shade net during May and June. Direct sunlight may cause the plants to wilt or dry out, which can significantly reduce their growth and flowering.
