Adenium Black RCN is an exotic and beautiful desert rose that has black flowers. It has a woody trunk and is also able to grow in the heat. You can grow it from seed, however, and all you have to do is be patient. Provided you are careful with it, you should be able to grow a strong, healthy plant.

First, select quality seeds from a credible seller. New seeds germinate and grow very well. Check the packaging date when buying because old seeds don’t germinate. Always buy seeds that are healthy and firm.

Second, soil preparation. Sow Adenium seeds in soil that drains well to prevent root rot. Potting soil, perlite, and sand are one of the good combinations. Such a combination encourages healthy roots. Sow in shallow trays or small pots.

Next, put the seeds on the soil. Press them lightly but not forcefully. Lastly, cover them with a thin layer of sand or soil. Then, water very lightly to moisten the soil. But don’t overwater because too much water can rot them.

After planting, place the tray in a warm, light location. 75–85°F (24–29°C) is ideal for germination. If the air is dry, cover with plastic wrap to create a humid atmosphere. In 7–14 days, small seedlings will be visible.

Once the seedlings have germinated, remove the plastic wrap and place them in the light. Sunlight will dehydrate them, so place them by a sunny window or under a grow lamp. Water only when the top inch of soil feels dry. Too much water and the roots will rot, so be gentle with them.

Water it occasionally while it’s growing but allow the soil to dry out before water again. Roots become decayed in excessive water. Provide a balanced fertilizer to the plant for balanced growth after every 2–3 weeks. While winters, reduce the water because the plant will be in its dormant stage.

In order to encourage bushy growth, pinch the end leaves. It will compel the plant to form more side shoots. Secondly, cut out dead or infected wood to make the plant appear vigorous and healthy.
