Plug crop time:Â 5 weeks
Transplant to finish:Â 5 to 6 weeks
- Very floriferous and well-branched plants display one-of-a-kind flowers with an overlapping, fully rounded form that won’t show gaps in hot temperatures.
- 3 to 5-day flowering window with an appealing upright habit across all colours.
- Outstanding in hot and sunny conditions.
- NOTE: blooms display the best colour contrast under warm conditions with higher light; colours brighten with increased temperatures and light. Grown under cooler conditions and lower light, colours appear darker overall with less contrast.
Swirls of cherry and raspberry are lightly airbrushed with black tones.
Plant vinca seeds indoors three to four months before the last frost of the season. Cover the seeds lightly with soil, then lay a damp newspaper over the tray because germinating seeds of vinca require total darkness. Place the seeds where temperatures are around 80 F. (27 C.). Check the tray daily and remove the newspaper as soon as seedlings emerge – generally two to nine days. At this point, move the seedlings into bright sunlight and room temperature is at least 75 F. (24 C.).

The seeds were of good quality & germinated on 3rd day , 100% germination except the 3 seeds which were received split and broken. The plants started flowering after 60 days approx. Airbrushed purple effect isn’t expressed properly due to high temperatures which I expect will be prominent once weather begins to cool down. The plants are sensitive to heat and humidity, not as hardy as the OP varieties but flowers are beautiful. They are expensive and so price could have been a bit less. The orange flowered one is Tangerine in the other pic along with Blackcherry.
