Sunflower Sunspot  need well-drained fertile soil. First, select a spot where sunflowers will get full sun since sunflowers require a minimum of six hours of direct sunlight daily. Second, loosen the ground with a garden fork and add compost such that the soil will be fertile. Don’t plant in heavy clay soil since it retains too much water.
