Morning Glories need to be planted in full sun. Choose an area in your yard that receives a minimum of six hours of direct sunlight per day. Plant the soil in a high organic matter and well-draining location. If your soil is heavy, add compost to it to make it better.

Morning Glory seeds are hard-seeded. To promote quick germination, pre-irrigate seeds in hot water for 24 hours before planting. Another way is to slightly nick the seed coat using a nail file so that the seeds can drink.
