How to Grow Vinca Seeds

Here it’s an easier way to grow vinca (Catharanthus roseus)

Growing vinca can be rewarding as many variety not available at the nursery or are very costly

First, we need the following material

Cocopeat, vermicompost, pot

Fill the pot with 80% soil and on top layer use cocopeat spread vinca seeds and cover with a thin layer of cocopeat, keep the pot in a semi-shade then water twice daily with a shower to keep moisture on the higher side as vinca requires very high humidity as their shell is very hard

Care for Vinca

Once it starts germinating move the seedling to the morning sun where it gets bright light, if the sun is more then put it under the white net, proper sunlight is required else the seedling can go leggy

When the plant has 4 true leaves you can separate the seedlings in a 6-inch pot.

Move the seedlings during nighttime without breaking the roots, move it with soil carefully, and water immediately after repot.

once seedling stabilizes you can move it to direct sun after a few days. when the plant starts budding you can pinch from the top, it will give good branching,

at this stage you can give fertilizer NPK 1 gm in 1 liter of vermicompost 30gm weekly.

Best to go with organic fertilizer it is good for soil also.

May take time to show results but it’s good in the long run .

Even if you put a little extra fertilizer it will not damage the plant
