Caladium bulbs Select a location that gets indirect light with partial shade.
- Plant the bulb 2-3 inches deep so that the growing side is up.
- Keep media moist till germination.
- Two or three weeks later, there will be sprouts and thereafter excellent leaves. It develops more quickly under increased humidity during rainy months.
Common Problems and Solutions
- Caladium bulbs are easy to cultivate, but there are some problems:
- Leaf Scorching: Browning leaves, reduce sun and raise humidity.
- Pest Infestation: Mealybugs and aphids attack Caladiums occasionally. Spray neem oil or imidacloprid.
- Slow Growth: If the bulb not sprouting make the media porous and move the bulb to a warm area.
