Scabiosa Flowered Description

Scabiosa Flowered Novelty scabiosa-type blooms.

2-2 1/2″ fully-double, semidouble, and approximately 20% single flowers. Unique salmon color with cream-to-rose petals and a distinct dark eye

It is an annual , and is as easy to grow as the more familiar Dahlia-flowered Zinnia.

These plants begin flowering as soon as the summer weather arrives. They thrive in the blazing heat, asking only well-drained soil and adequate water to keep them dazzling for months.

Scabiosa are one of the easiest annuals to grow, and attract butterflies to the garden. They are outstanding in beds, borders, and containers, and are the perfect cut flower–the more you cut, the more you get! They thrive in the sun and heat of summer, and ask only well-drained soil.

Scabiosa Flower * Germination Stages (from seed to finished young plant)

Scabiosa Flowered Double Stage I Starts with the radicle breaking through the testa. The roots are touching the medium. Ends with fully developed cotyledons.
Stage II Starts from fully developed cotyledons. Ends with the fully developed true leaf or true leaf pair.
Stage III Starts from the fully developed true leaf or true leaf pair and ends with 80% of the young plants being marketable.
Stage IV All young plants are ready for sale and in the process of being hardened off. This stage lasts about 7 days.
